WHO WE ARE

Discount Displays is a UK based display company operating from a 7000sq foot factory in Croydon on the outskirts of London with an extra 10,000sq feet or warehousing in West Sussex. Our factory houses design, printing and finishing, ensuring a fast reliable and high quality service.

We started in business over 25 years ago with a single very SLOW vinyl cutting machine, a long way from the state of the art large format digital printing department that is now at the heart of our organisation. The technology has changed, but we are still in the business of helping companies and organisations communicate with their customers visually.

We got involved with the internet early on to promote our business which proved a great success allowing customer to order online 24/7 but unlike many net based companies we are not middle men but a production company with full control of all aspects of your job under one roof.

We started importing display products over 15 years ago and over that time have establish strong working partnerships with supplier in many different countries. Currently we offer over 2000 different display products which we are constantly adding to. Keeping up to date of all the latest large format print technologies means we can offer you faster turnaround, lower costs and even more innovative printed display products.

GENERAL


DISCOUNT PRICING
We aim to bring the highest quality products to market at the cheapest prices available online. Clients can't believe that the quality is as good as our competitors who may charge 3 times as much for exactly the same equipment. There's no magic involved in our low pricing. We keep tight control of our costs, buy in bulk and have a small sales force. The result? You get a fast reliable service offering quality products (our frames for example are backed by a 10 year guarantee) at rock bottom prices.

If you see cheaper prices ask why; How are the graphics printed? What inks are used? Where is the stand made? Will the graphics have a good fit? Is the printing in house? We get many samples from suppliers which look the same on their web site as ones we might sell but as soon as you unpack them you realize the finish is not as good, the material is thinner, the packaging is poor.

WHAT COMPANIES HAVE YOU SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT TO?
We seem to appeal to everyone from one man bands to international companies. We have continually been chosen against stiff competition by the most demanding of clients including many well known high street names for major nationwide contracts (Marks and Spencer, Thomas Cook, De beer's, the list goes on) as well as local government, schools and charities in the UK and overseas. WHAT IS YOUR LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEE?
We keep a close eye on the competition and make a simple promise. If you find the same product elsewhere for less, prove it and we will beat it. It will only take you a couple of minutes and you'll make great savings. Beware. Just because a product looks similar it does not mean it is the same quality. For example we imported samples of 6 different pavement signs before we chose our best selling A board. All of them looked the same it was only when we tested them that it became evident where corners had been cut. Thinner material, weaker hinges, patchy finishing, thinner covers in all a far inferior product.

WHAT WARRANTY DO YOU OFFER?
Our business has been built over the last 25 years on repeat work so our stands have to be totally reliable and trouble free. Our display equipment is carefully sourced to offer the very best value for money and durability. Our stand warranty covers manufacturing defects rather than operator damage. If you think others are supplying better warranties read the small print.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR QUANTITY?
We're unbeatable on large quantities. A couple of recent projects have included a nationwide delivery of 350 Roll up displays for Marks and Spencer, 450 Eco Rollas for a Thomas Cook. Try us!

HOW SOON CAN I HAVE MY STAND?
Turn around times vary so please check when ordering. Unlike many of our competitors we hold stock so many standard products are available off the shelf. Customised items take a little longer, usually 3-5 days. If you have less time let us know; we love a challenge.

WHAT QUALITY ARE YOUR GRAPHICS?
There is a bit of art to large format printing. It takes time and experience and an understanding of inks and media to end up with the sort of results we proudly produce. Our graphics are printed using high quality digital ink jet technology and the very best branded inks and media (HP and 3M). We pride ourselves on our digital print if your not happy neither are we and we will reprint graphics you are not 100% happy within the capabilities of digital print technology. We always advise that you order a machine proof for colour critical jobs.

WHY IS IT CALLED A 3X3 POP UP WHEN THERE ARE 5 PANELS?
A 3 x 3 refers to the number of sections making up the frame so you have 3 columns and 3 rows. A 3 x 4 has 4 columns and 3 rows. Make sense? If not and you need to know please call 0844 800 1020.

ARTWORK


CAN YOU DESIGN IT FOR ME?
Yes. While most of our clients use their own designers to provide ready to print artwork our in house designers offer a competitive service. Where you are providing artwork the prices you see on our web site assume you are providing artwork ready to print.

WHAT DO I NEED TO SUPPLY?
Artwork ready to print, a colour printed visual image, any colour reference you want us to get close to. If we only have the disk we have no idea what we should be printing. If something is missing from your file it will be missing from the finished graphic! If we are designing the stand for you please call to discuss.

WILL I GET A PROOF?
We do not provide a proof as a matter of course because 9 times out of 10 deadlines are too tight but we encourage you to order one if colours are critical. Each printer prints colour differently so the only way to get a true indication is to have a machine proof. We cannot be held responsible if you don't have a proof.

CAN YOU MATCH COLOURS?
It is not always possible to match pantone colours using CMYK printers. Our printers and media are carefully calibrated but if no colour proof is provided we can only print what is supplied on disk. If you give us a colour reference and we can't get close we will tell you. If colour is critical please supply a reference and ask for a proof.
