Banner Stands Buyers Guide

What is a banner stand?

Banner stands are freestanding displays that hold a custom-printed banner graphic in place. They are a cost-effective, highly portable way to showcase promotional messages and branding at exhibitions or other marketing environments. Banners stands are all tool-free assembly.

Our banner stands come in a variety of widths, from around 800mm up to 2400mm. Most banners are around 2m tall, offering excellent visibility.

How are the banner stands made?

At Discount Displays, we sell thousands of banner stands a year as we offer the best value for money, great service and reliable quality. We import a range of exclusive banner stand systems and our printing takes place in-house in a state-of-the-art large-format print department.

Our banner graphics are constructed with high-quality scratch-resistant PVC material. We use the latest HP digital printers and latex inks to transfer your custom design onto the banner. Latex inks produce outstandingly sharp and vibrant graphics.

If you have your own design for your banner stand our artwork team will contact you after you have placed your order to ensure your design is optimised for printing. They will also be able to handle any other requests you have.

If you don't have a design, our design team can create a custom banner design for you at an additional cost. They will work with you and your specifications to create the best design for your needs.

We can also supply replacement banner graphics for any of the stands.

Tensioned Banner Stands

A simple alternative to retractable models, also referred to as X banners. Tensioned banners are lighter and cheaper than retractables. They don't have any moving parts or mechanisms which means changing the banner is simple. Though they are easy to erect, they do take a couple more minutes to put up. They are assembled by attaching a custom fabric graphic to the corners of the frame, keeping the banner taut.

Advantages:

  • No moving parts
  • Cheaper than roller banners
  • Easy to change/replace the graphics

Disadvantages:

  • Takes slightly longer to put up than a retractable banner

What additional features can banner stands have?

Replaceable Cassette Banners

Banner stands with replaceable cassettes are similar to roller banner stands. With these banner stands, the graphic cartridge is independently housed from the base unit. This makes swapping graphics quick and easy with no need to send the stand away. This type of banner stand is ideal for companies that frequently change or rotate their promotional messages.

You can refresh your graphics without the need to invest in an entirely new banner system. Just order a new graphic cassette, slot it into the base, and you're set.

Double-sided Banner Stands

Double-sided banner stands have a custom-printed graphic on both the front and the back of the banner. You can either display the same message on both sides or something different. This gives you extra space to add more information.

Our range of double-sided banner stands are available in a variety of stand types, including roller, tensioned and outdoor.
