What is the difference between a hand trolley and a sack truck?

The terms hand trolley, hand truck, sack truck and sack trolley are often used interchangeably. They generally describe a two-wheeled trolley with a toe plate that slides underneath boxes or other loads, allowing them to be tilted backwards and moved more easily.

What is a folding hand trolley?

A folding hand trolley is designed so that components such as the wheels, toe plate or handle can fold away when the trolley is not being used. This reduces the overall size of the trolley and makes it easier to store in car boots, vans, cupboards and storerooms.

How much weight can a hand trolley carry?

Maximum load capacity varies by model. Our compact folding hand trolleys are available with capacities of up to 60kg and 80kg, while our larger sack trucks can carry loads of up to 400kg. Always check the maximum stated capacity of the individual trolley before use.

Are folding sack trucks suitable for exhibitions?

Yes. Folding sack trucks are particularly useful for exhibitions and trade shows because they can be used to transport literature, product samples, boxes and smaller items of exhibition equipment. Once your stand has been set up, the trolley can be folded down for compact storage.

Can I keep a folding trolley in a car?

Yes. Compact folding trolleys are designed to take up less storage space. For example, our 80kg folding trolley folds down to approximately 735mm high and weighs only 4kg, making it practical for keeping in the boot of a car.

Which hand trolley should I choose for heavy boxes?
